Epic 4G Official Update Over the Air
Sprint releases official update for the Samsung Epic 4G. This update is believed to majorly fix the battery drain caused when WiFi is in standby as well as email upload speed lag.
This software update will enable users to download from Amazon MP3 over 4G networks and a significant increase in 3G upload speeds can also be seen. Sprint has rolled out the software update over-the-air issuing it to all the phone and the latest version is S: D700.0.5S.DI18
The maintenance release will fix:
- Battery drain that occurs when WiFi is on standby
- Email lag in upload speed as well as increased 3G upload speeds
- Amazon MP3 that cannot download in 4G
Quick Notes for the update
- The new update version is: S:D700.0.5S.DI18
- The update takes approximately 7-8 minutes to download and around 7-8 minutes to install.
- This update is available over the air and will be rolled out to all users over several days.
- Your device is supposed to be on software version DI07 to take up the update to DI18 version.
- If your device is on DG17 or DG27, this update over the air is not for you. Only a Sprint Service and Repair Center should be able to update your device to DI07.
- The update from DI07 to DI18 is not yet available to the Service and Repair Centers. It will update as soon as it is available.
