10 Reasons to wait for a second generation of Nintendo 3D
You are undecided if you want to buy the Nintendo 3D or not, on March, when it will be released? Of course, now it is this trend with 3D technology and only the idea of playing games using it is fantastic. But does Nintendo 3D deserves all this attention? In our opinion it doesn’t. Bellow you will see our arguments for this. But, because we like to be fair, let’s review some of its advantages:
The form factor
Although the size is a little too small for our tastes, being only 3.5 inch, the Nintendo 3D is keeping the tradition alive: it kept the same foldable DS form, which made a lot of victims before.
On the lower part of the Nintendo 3D console we can find a new slider analog button, that will bring up the idea that you have more control of the game, thing that is pretty nice.
The screen factor
The first advantage is that Nintendo succeeded in making a 3D screen, without obliging the user to wear the 3D glasses. This is pretty cool. The technology used is named Rittai Kakushi e Attakoreda technique and has the ability to track the eyes of the user, therefore to produce a 3d effect.
The camera factor
A 3D camera is always representing an advantage to any device that incorporates it. As well, the 3D Camera is the one used to make that 3D effect. You can easily adjust it with a slider button at the side of the console that will help you to control the depth of the view.
For a better gaming experience, Nintendo 3D has also a gyro sensor, a motion sensor and a slidepad that will allow a 360 degree analog input.
The games factor
Here is the list of the new games that will be available for the Nintendo 3D console. We have to admit that they are a lot:
After we passed through the good part of buying a Nintendo 3D console, let’s go to the true purpose of this article: why you should wait for the second generation of it:
The price factor
Nintendo was known for their cheap prices. After what rumors said that they will release this 3D console for a price of 400 or maybe 500 dollars, fans breathed relieved when they officially announced a price of only 250 dollars. But this isn’t cheap anymore. Nintendo’s hand-held consoles have never founded that high. The DSi XL was $190, DSi was $170 and the original DS sold for $150.
To pay 250 $ for a console without any games, we think that is a little too much, when we talk about Nintendo. This is bringing us to the next factor:
The games’ price factor
Do you remember the times when you paid only 1 dollar for an Angry Bird game? Those are gone and dead. Now, all that list of new games that I was telling before has an exorbitant price. Even if Nintendo didn’t say any official price for them, Amazon evaluated each to a price of 40-50 dollars, because of the 3D technology implemented.
The battery life factor
The idea of playing 3D games on your breaks from work is great, nut not as great as it looks at a first view. You can play on DS light more than 10 hours, but with the 3D console things are staying a little bit different. Officially, Nintendo announced that the battery life of this console will go up to 3 hours. It sucks, no? Let me tell you the real bad part now: you will get 3 hours only if you will lower the light and put the 3D depth really down.
Even if the 3D Nintendo console idea sounds great, this is a consistent disadvantage in not buying it. But, the great part here is that, always, the second generation devices, had longer lasting batteries.
The dimension factor
With only 3.5 inches, Nintendo 3D is just too small. An enthusiast will be totally disappointed with this. Especially if you are thinking that DSI XL had 4.2 inches. The idea of playing a 3D game on a pitty screen is not as pleasurable as it was before finding out this small detail, no?
The 3D technology factor
The best part of this console has, also, some disadvantages. First one is that you need some practice to get used with it. Early testers aren’t that amazed with the 3D experience they had with the new console. In fact, you need to at least use it for a couple of minutes before your eyes to be able to see this effect.
Also, Nintendo already started to fill the media with a lot of warnings about the 3D effect over the little kid’s developing eyes. It’s not only little kids who should be concerned, but also adults too. As the Friday Japanese magazine said, adults accused headaches and eye fatigue after they’ve tried this product on an exposition show.
Fortunately, we know that Nintendo are monitoring like a hawk every critic of the new released products, in the idea of improving and obtaining a best sold second generation device. This is why we have reasons to believe that the second generation of the 3D Nintendo console will be a much better experience for users than this one.
